New Music! (it's what we do)
Hey friends -
We're proud to announce the release of our new EP Closer! Here's the scoop:
3 new songs - including the recently released as a sneak peak "Closer." A new track called "Safe to Land" and "Prisoner of Hope," which we used as end title credits to the movie "Sons of Lwala."
Also included are 2 favorites that we've reworked. "Flood" and "Lovesong for a Savior" have been given new life with this rerecording. It's something we've wanted to do for some time, to give the songs some different production, while keeping the soul of the songs we've loved for many years now. We hope you dig the re-interpretations!
Lastly, check out the art work - it's a collaboration between our fine lead singer Dan and our extremely talented friend Christy Little who worked on the artwork for the Christmas Songs album. There are many lyrical nods to the song Closer in it - we're all fans.
So - go get some new Jars music! And hang on for the full length record to release in early '09!

Ok, so I'm only now hearing "Closer" now that you've put it on your website... I don't have an iPod... I know, I know, how very 80's... speaking of which, Charlie, I love the synth. Dan, you have NO IDEA how the lyric is resonating thru my life right now. Thank you. I also love the artwork for the single, I hope it will make it onto a t-shirt for the MusicBuilds tour.

Even listening to the 30 second clips, I feel like I'm floating. I absolutely LOVE the new sound for 'lovesong for a savior'!!!!! It was one of my first favorites from you, and I'm glad you keep reviving it :) Downloading the EP now...

Just want to say what a treat it was to drive you to and from the airport.
Dan, I told you about a book with people all around the world and pictures of their possessions. It's called Material World and you'll see what I meant about the materialism we live in, so naturally, as opposed to many around the world. (You've seen more of it firsthand.)

The first album I paid for through iTunes! I actually downloaded it "another" way and loved it so much I had to buy it.
The two new songs sound great, and I love the reworked versions of "Love Song. . . " and "Flood." "Prisoner of Hope" is good, though it feels extremely similar to some song on Good Monsters to me.
Can't wait for the new album.

New version of Love Song...
I gotta say I adore the new version of Love Song for a Savior... The original was my 2nd favorite song you all have recorded (my favorite being "Oh My God" - moves me to tears every time...) and I was a little nervous about what I'd think of the new version... but WOW! The new version's amazing. I love how full and amped up it sounds, and that "clapping" sound in the background makes me want to go run through the fields of wildflowers myself. Excellent! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! God bless you guys!

I love the new music. You guys never cease to amaze me. I love all the different genres of music you bring to the table. My husband and I brought our children to the Sounds game last night and FINALLY heard you live...loved it! My husband, who is a former metal head really enjoyed your performance. My son, Jack (age 5), who is a major Jarhead and I believe future musician, played air guitar the whole time you were on stage. I just want to thank you for your ministry, your message, and for sharing your talent the way you do.

I Love the "Closer" track. I downloaded it the minute it was realesed to iTunes and I've played it over and over. my little brother loves it too!
